A few weeks back, I stumbled upon this guy named Robbie Swale. It was one of those random internet journeys—started with a Google search, led to a YouTube video, and finally landed on his website. But what really caught my attention was something he called the "12 Minute Method." Basically, he'd sit down, write for 12 minutes straight, give it a quick proofread, and then hit publish, flaws and all.
Reading about his approach sparked something inside me. You see, for the past couple of years, I've been knee-deep in technical writing. Don't get me wrong, it pays the bills, but it's time to get back to writing for myself. To rediscover that creative spark.
So, I'm taking a page out of Robbie's book. I'm committing to the 12 Minute Method. Three times a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), I'll sit down, set the timer for 12 minutes, and let the words flow - No overthinking, no perfectionism—just raw, unfiltered writing. Proofread once and the post. And hey, I'll even spice things up by using an AI topic generator to generate topics to write on. Who knows where this journey will take me, but I'm excited to find out.
So feel free to check out my Substack during your week. And hey, don't be a stranger—leave a comment if you like what I've written.
If this sounds cool to you, feel free to subscribe and tell a friend and possibly even your foes.
I have no idea how I'm subscribed, but I saw this sitting pretty in my email box and I've caught up on your posts and I love it. It's simple and free and something I'd look forward to during my breaks.
As someone who loves to overthink before writing, I'd definitely check out the "12 minute method".
Thank you!
